The Last Few Hours

Well that day has come, our last day of ministry. We are actually just hours away from the end of our official ministry. We have one community celebration left tonight and we would ask that you pray with us and for us at 7pm EST. We will be sharing in the community of Rio San Juan. The Questies have had a great day of going door to door talking with people about their spiritual journey and have invited them to join us tonight.

The group will sing, share their drama, testimonies, stomp and a short message. Last night a youth group from a  neighboring community lead a service. There were maybe 150 or more there. It was rainy and it started late. I pray we have a larger group tonight. Thank you for partnering with us in this last effort. Pray for our new friends as the follow up here and seek to begin a new church here.

Some of you would love to be flies on the wall, especially parents--to watch your teenagers. Today we had the local fish for lunch, tonight roasted pig! As in roasted in the back of the casa!

Tomorrow we travel back to the Capitol for shopping and dinner out. We leave for the airport at 5am on Friday. There are many, many stories to share and much to process. How do we apply what we have seen and experienced to our daily lives and our faith journey.

We are looking forward to the Q8 South Africa team joining us Friday night for a full team debrief.

We continue to thank God for everyone remaining healthy and staying safe. We are tired at this point. Pray that with our resistance down we remain healthy.

This will be the last blog from the Dominican Republic. We will blog once we return to New England. Watch in the days ahead for the summary statements of the Q8DR students and hopefully more pictures (we have over 600). Please know we have thanked God for your partnership through support and prayer.

Adios! Q8DR

Coming back home can be the most challenging part of the mission trip. I pray God will give you all the words to communicate what happen on the Mountain top. I pray for a safe trip back and for how God has spoken and will speak to you will be clear. Come back as radical as you were in DR. New England needs it. Liz we will see you Saturday.

4 - Dear Nicholas & Q8 questies~

Our KCC committee (kids ministry) will be praying for all of you, at 7pm EST, tonight at church. There is power in prayer, so I believe your last community celebration is going to be a spirit-filled evening! We pray for an extra measure of strength and protection, too!
Can't wait for your return!

5 - Hi, Lauren and Allyson and everyone! We will pray for you tonight for your service. We hope that many whom you had conversations with today would come with curious hearts!
You're not missing anything with the weather up here...it's reaking havoc on the WRHS baseball season. We're supposed to go to BC tomorrow, but it doesn't look good. We're excited to hear all you'll have to download when you return.

6 - Hey Nick,
I thought I'd comment once more before I got to talk to you on Friday, whenever on Friday that might be. I was going to tell you that you hadn't missed any lacrosse games, but your mom beat me to it. I'm supposed to have one tomorrow but I don't know if it's going to happen. I want you to make the most of your last days there, so you can leave feeling like you have done everything that you went there to do. I miss you and I love you (x7) and I'll see you in a few days!
