Rain, Rain Go Away
Today we awoke to a light rain that has continued all day. At times it is light and other times a downpour. So we have altered our plan throughout the day. Once we arrived at Antonio´s family home we had breakfast and then the two groups blended and shared back and forth our faith stories. The groups also sang together. Many of Antonio´s family shared there stories and several have had near death experiences. The group came away with an appreciation for life.
Afterwards we had lunch and then headed down the basketball court which is covered. There is a mixture of volleyball, basketball and hanging out with some of the local children and youth.
A group is coming from a nearby town to lead a service tonight. Our group will be leading tomorrow night. Tomorrow is our last full day of ministry her in the DR.
We are learning to be thankful for small things. We are thankful we had our laundry done yesterday, everything is dried on the fence the wall or a line. We had quite the load of lanudry which is washed in a machine but not like the US. The women who helped worked all day. And we are thankful we were able to enjoy the beach yesterday since it was so rainy and cloudy today.
The group is aware of the shooting at VA Tech. We have read some of the accounts on the internet. We do not have access to a TV and haven´t most of our time here.
I hope all family members, mentors and youth leaders have let us know if you will be joining us for the Celebration on Saturday.
sorry you had rain.... we've had a lot of that here, close to 4" on Sunday. everyone at home misses you, my guys here at work ask how everything is going. they hope all you Questies are growing from the experience. things are changing slightly at home. getting a new dryer and frig, tonight. converting over the electric to propane for the dryer, water heater, and the downstairs fireplace. so, lots of clean up has been going on. your brothers and sister are spending their vacation as day labors for your mother. we love you very much and miss you.

We are so proud of you kids and what you have accomplished, the Word that you have shared and God's Love that you have displayed; what a tremendous experience for you! I'm thankful that you were able to get to the beach, I know Nicholas couldn't wait for that one and now enjoying some much needed down time with each other.

It's been a stretching week for everyone! The weather's been crazy (yeah, even here in Florida... don't hate!), and a lot of you guys may be overwhelmed processing everything you are experiencing meanwhile the rest of the world continues-- weird, isn't it? I know it's got to feel like you're worlds apart from us, but as you get ready to get back remember that you can change "your world" just as much as this "new world" has changed you.
Ok. Enough with the sappiness. I've got to go write about crime and stuff. I know everyone's been telling you that they're praying for you (and yeah, we are) but don't get all caught up in what you're doing and forget to talk to him yourselves!
Ok. I'm going to stop before this becomes a "close your eyes and bow your heads" moment.
Miss you. Love you. I'm done with the semester this time next week so could you guys PLEASE pray for me and my final papers/exams? Gracias.

So I saw our friend at the gas station today, and he was wear that hat too. lol So I'll keep praying for you and the team. And I hope by now that everyone is on your team. lol Well its late and I think I'm gonna go to bed soon. So good luck Q8 and keep up the good work.
